The Beat Laboratory

Thought that I would post some pictures of my new home recording space. Quite a step up from my last setup. Hopefully you will hear some awesome tunes being cranked out from here really soon.

The art on the walls are originals by my wife Skylar. All of the guitars are on wall hangs too.

My compter workspace and inferface. :) The piano is actually Skylar's but she's kind enough to let me use it. Much better than the 61 key MM6.

Buried

Saturday was not one of my best days. I never had sinus problems before but for some reason I woke up and felt like my eyes were going to pop out of my skull. Apart from that I was also feeling pretty weak and sore all over. With not enough time to call out of work, I decided that I'd just tough it out for a while and come home early. On my way home I wanted nothing more than to just get into some pj's and crash out on the couch. As I passed Walgreen's I decided that I'd pop in and see what the Redbox had to offer. Luckily there was no line at the machine so I could browse through movies without being rushed. I HATE when the person(s) in front of me at the Redbox have no idea what they want or how to even work the machine. Rude. I quickly decided on a movie called "Buried" for a few reasons, apart from having Ryan Reynolds, the box art had quotations like' GRIPPING" "TERRIFYING" and "BRILLIANTLY TWISTED AND SUSPENSEFUL." How could I go wrong? I got home and waited till dark to start the movie. The premise was interesting enough. Ryan Reynolds wakes up in a coffin buried underground with no idea of who put him there or why and now has to figure out a way to escape with only a cell phone and a lighter for help. What the quotations on the box art failed to mention was that at no point during the entire 90 minute movie did the camera ever leave the box. No flashbacks, no other characters, just Ryan... in a box... for 90 minutes. In all fairness I will admit that at no point during the movie was I bored or wanting it to end, but when the ending did come I was extremely disappointed. The story just fell apart and the twist that I was waiting for never happened making the whole ordeal all for nothing. By the end, I felt so claustrophobic that all I wanted to do was get the heck outta my house. However, being sick and having nowhere to go didn't help my situation. I felt like I was being buried and it was seriously frustrating.

More Recently

It's been awhile since I've posted in this blog. I pretty much abandoned it for the NOOB blog but lately it's been hard to find time for NOOB activities. Since I'm still keeping pretty busy I want to make sure I have somewhere to post. Since it's been two years since I've had a solid update, I will attempt to bring you all up to speed.

1. In case you were still wondering, Capa To The Sun is no more. Unfortunately we all chose different paths in life making it too difficult to keep the band together. Omni and I still talk quite frequently and have even started making music together again. New music coming soon? Quite possibly. Capa reunion? Never say never.

2. I graduated from Chandler-Gilbert Community College and am now at ASU studying Communications. I hate the Tempe Campus. This semester has been a cluster. I'll talk more about school in later posts.

3. I married my best friend and long time fiancee, Skylar last November. Married life has been pretty awesome. I'm happy to say that living together has been really fun and we don't really mind each other's crazy antics. I love my wife more and more every day.

4. I moved from Gilbert all the way to Mesa. Sky and I have a beautiful condo, we have an awesome kitchen, two bathrooms and an office where I have moved my home studio and beat laboratory. I am in the process of re-naming my G-Town Records llc. as I am no longer in G-Town.

I'll continue to update both this and the NOOB blog as often as possible. Bye for now.

Here are the flyers for the upcoming shows that we have booked as of right now!

Hello!

I was browsing some of my friends mission blogs and I read a snippet that mentioned that they were able to read each others blogs when they logged on so I decided to make one myself. I realize that I am not on a mission but I feel that I am still keeping busy and doing enough with my life to warrant having a blog. Hopefully the bro's will be able to check up on this from time to time over the course of their missions and I will try my best to keep it updated!
